AB Spectrum is proud to offer ASD Diagnostic
Testing through a licensed ASD clinical diagnosis

Obtain Authorization from Insurance Carrier
Once a child has been diagnosed with ASD, AB Spectrum works with your insurance company to begin the authorization process for ABA therapy. The team at AB Spectrum schedules an initial ABA assessment to obtain the information needed to develop an initial treatment plan. Although the time needed to obtain authorization can vary, many children are ready to begin treatment faster at AB Spectrum compared to other places, as we focus exclusively on providing this care.

Begin your Childs journey
Once enrolled in our therapy program, a child receives very individualized treatment plans from a team of three therapist: a Speech Language Pathologist, a Registered Behavior Technician, and a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Treatment can last anywhere from one to five years and is usually 20 to 40 hours per week. AB Spectrum is proud to offer a skilled team of professionals whose advanced knowledge and experience in ABA therapy elevates the quality of support offered to the learners and families enrolled in our program.
Autism Diagnosis and Treatment
Psychological Testing Services at AB Spectrum
We are excited to offer psychological testing as part of our Autism Diagnostic Clinic, conducted by our expert team of clinical psychologists. Our goal is to provide a deeper understanding of an individual’s cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning. Through a range of assessments, we gain insights that inform personalized intervention plans for long-term success. These assessments include:
- Cognitive and Developmental Assessments: To evaluate intellectual abilities, learning styles, and developmental milestones.
- ADHD and Behavioral Evaluations: To assess attention, hyperactivity, and other behavioral concerns.
- Personality and Emotional Assessments: For identifying emotional strengths, challenges, and personality traits.
These services complement our autism intervention offerings and allow us to better tailor our treatments to each individual’s needs.
How Psychological Testing Integrates with Our Services
Our new psychological testing department works seamlessly with our autism intervention programs, offering a holistic view of a child’s unique strengths and challenges. These detailed evaluations guide our team in developing more effective, individualized treatment plans. With this integrated approach, we address not just symptoms but the root causes of behavioral and emotional challenges, ensuring we provide the best care possible.
Autism Diagnosis and Early Intervention
At AB Spectrum, early detection and intervention are key to optimizing developmental outcomes. Early autism screening can significantly improve long-term results by facilitating the timely introduction of therapies like Reggio ABA. Early intervention helps develop new neural pathways in the brain, improving cognitive, social, and communication skills.
Early Signs of Autism:
Parents are often the first to notice unusual behaviors. Some common early signs of autism include:
- Limited or absent eye contact
- Delayed speech or language development
- Repetitive movements or behaviors (e.g., hand-flapping, rocking)
- Difficulty with social interactions (e.g., lack of interest in playing with peers)
- Intense focus on specific interests or routines
- Sensitivity to sensory stimuli (e.g., aversion to certain textures, sounds, or lights)
Recognizing these signs early can lead to earlier intervention, which is critical in optimizing outcomes. At AB Spectrum, we offer comprehensive assessments to help guide families through the autism diagnostic process.
Additional Diagnoses We Address
Beyond autism, AB Spectrum provides support and referrals for a variety of other diagnoses and concerns. Our expert team of clinicians ensures every child’s needs are met with personalized care. We assist with:
- Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
- ADHD (Attention-Deficit/
Hyperactivity Disorder) - Mood Disorders (e.g., anxiety, depression)
- Trauma (e.g., PTSD, emotional distress)
- Personality Disorders
- Intellectual Disabilities
- Learning Disorders (e.g., dyslexia, dyscalculia)
- Parental Capacity Evaluations (including court referrals)
- General Developmental Concerns (e.g., speech delays, motor skill issues)
When needed, we also provide referrals to trusted specialists who can offer additional support and guidance.
Why Early Diagnosis Matters
Early diagnosis of autism and other behavioral or developmental concerns is crucial because it ensures timely intervention. Children diagnosed early can begin therapy sooner, optimizing the outcomes of treatments like Reggio ABA therapy, which is known for its effectiveness in young children due to their adaptable brains. Our child-led, group-based approach to therapy encourages exploration, social interaction, and creativity—offering a more enriching and effective experience than traditional one-on-one therapy.
